Learning Python has been a really cool experience for me. For years, I stuck with what I knew, things like HTML, PHP, and LUA. I wasn’t really pushing myself to learn anything new. For almost a decade, I got by using the bit of coding knowledge I had, mostly for modding games I liked. I kept things pretty simple and never felt the need to expand. I’d often go back to games like Garry’s Mod or Counter-Strike, where I spent a lot of time back in my teens and early twenties.
Now in my 30s, I stumbled across Python and quickly realized just how powerful it is. I started off by making some basic cogs for a Python app called Redbot, which lets you build custom Discord bots, and that opened up a whole new world for me.
Learning Python has definitely reignited my interest in coding. It’s a language that feels accessible and super versatile, and I’ve been diving deeper into it with different projects. Honestly, I wish I’d picked it up sooner, but better late than never, right? It's exciting to see where this could go, and it just goes to show that you're never too old to pick up something new and run with it.
